Description

All of our collars are made from English Bridle Leather chosen for its combination of strength, suppleness and good looks.

They are made by E Jefferies, world renowned Walsall saddlers, who have been producing a quality product since 1820.

Hand stitched where it matters most, with the ‘D’ ring area invisibly reinforced with webbing for added security. We use the best brass furniture and specify a stainless steel tongue for extra strength – we believe these are the best collars available.

Oak Bark leather is something special, and we believe it to be the best leather in the world.

It’s difficult to imagine a more traditional way of making leather; the hides are soaked in pits filled with oak bark and water for over a year.

The process creates supple, hardwearing leather that retains its natural grain - so each piece is unique.

FAQ

Materials & Construction

Our leather dog collars are handcrafted in Birmingham in Great Britain, by skilled craftsmen using selected leather and traditional saddlery techniques.

We use selected leather chosen for its durability, comfort and appearance. Over time, the leather develops a natural patina and character, making each collar uniquely its own.

Our collars feature solid brass fittings, chosen for their strength, durability and timeless appearance. Unlike plated fittings, solid brass will not rust and is well suited to year-round use.

A quality leather collar offers a combination of comfort, durability and timeless appearance that is difficult to replicate with synthetic materials. Leather naturally softens and moulds to your dog’s neck over time, while developing character through years of use. For many owners, a well-made leather collar is something to enjoy for many years rather than regularly replace.

Yes. Our collars are designed for daily wear and are suitable for everything from walks and training to life around the home. The combination of quality leather and solid brass fittings provides strength, comfort and durability.

Sizing & Fit

Measure your dog’s neck where the collar will normally sit and compare this measurement with the sizing information provided on the product page. We recommend allowing enough room to comfortably fit two fingers between the collar and your dog’s neck.

If your dog’s measurement falls between sizes, we generally recommend choosing the larger size to allow for adjustment and seasonal coat changes.

Yes, provided the correct size is selected. However, fast-growing puppies may quickly outgrow their collar, so you may wish to take this into account when choosing a size.

Care & Maintenance

Leather is a natural material and benefits from occasional cleaning and conditioning. If the collar becomes wet, allow it to dry naturally away from direct heat. Periodic application of a suitable leather conditioner will help maintain its appearance and suppleness. Use our Natural Leathercare product to take care of your collar.

The collar can tolerate occasional exposure to rain and wet conditions. However, repeated soaking, swimming or prolonged exposure to water may shorten the life of the leather and affect its appearance.

Yes. Like all quality leather goods, the collar will gradually develop a natural patina through use. This is a normal characteristic of genuine leather and part of its appeal.

Performance & Suitability

Yes. They are robust enough for everyday use with active dogs while retaining the comfort, appearance and craftsmanship expected of a traditional leather collar.

Yes. The solid brass D-ring is designed for secure lead attachment during everyday walks, training and general use.

Orders & Returns

Provided the collar remains in new, unused condition, it can be returned or exchanged in accordance with our returns policy.

We stand behind the quality of our products and cover them against faults in workmanship and materials for their reasonable lifetime. Normal wear and tear, accidental damage and misuse are not covered.
