British Red Deer Antler Chew
In the wild, dogs are hunters and scavengers, and chew on all sorts of hard animal parts; domesticated dogs don’t have the same opportunities, so providing suitable chews, can be enormously beneficial.
Our Antler Chews are a good source of nutrients and minerals, as well as helping to remove plaque and tartar, by scraping against the teeth.
There are less obvious benefits; chewing stimulates the production of saliva, which helps flush away any bacteria, that might have built up in the mouth and cause bad breath. Chewing is also mentally stimulating, and triggers the release of endorphins, which help relieve pain, stress, and boredom, whilst promoting a sense of well-being.
Our Antlers are shed annually by Red Deer in Great Britain, they are then collected, cleaned, cut to size, and finally sanded to remove any sharp edges.
Our vet considers around twenty minutes a day chewing appropriate.
