Locked on point - Yogi had already pointed a few pheasants at home and adapted quickly to the hill. I was lucky enough to be given access to a piece of ground to practise on, and it wasn't long, before he pointed his first grouse. I ran him on a short line, to make sure he was steady to the flush, but haven't needed it yet. Over the next few sessions he consolidated his new skills, and extended his range, under the watchful eye of a family of ospreys. The culmination was a day's shooting where he made us proud, with several points, and a couple of complete hunt, point and retrieves - not bad for 10 months!
