Not so long ago, you could have gone to your local saddler and simply bought a well made collar, in good quality bridle leather - Nowadays it’s not so easy.
Our collars are handmade by experienced saddle makers, in the market town of Walsall, the home of British saddle making.
They are made from English Bridle Leather chosen for its combination of strength, suppleness and good looks. The furniture is all traditional cast brass.
Our Tan Collars are made from Rein Back Leather, which comes from the longest part of the hide, traditionally used to make reins. It is sourced from the West Midlands, where a father a son team of finishers have been producing top quality leather, using traditional methods, for over fifteen years.
Our Dark Brown Collars are made from Stirrup Leather, which obviously needs high tensile strength, but also has to look great, and age well. Ours comes from a Yorkshire based, Master Saddler.
Regardless of which leather you choose, fit is all important.
